Where Is the Download History After Switching Apple ID on Binance iOS App

Another frequently asked question by users after switching their Apple ID is: "Can I still find the download history of the Binance app that was downloaded using my old Apple ID?" The answer lies in the account system of the Apple App Store. This note explains how download histories are stored and where to find them. For installation guides, see the iOS installation tutorial; for browser access, go to the Binance Official Website; for Android installation, use the Binance Official App.

App Store Download History Storage Principles

The App Store ties your download history to your Apple ID. Each Apple ID maintains a "Purchased" list, which records:

  • Names of previously downloaded apps
  • Download dates
  • Whether it was a paid app (including the amount)
  • Whether it is currently still available on the App Store

When you switch to another Apple ID, the "Purchased" list you see belongs to the new Apple ID. The old history does not migrate automatically.

Difference Between Changing Regions and Switching IDs

Two easily confused actions:

Action Impact
Changing region on the same Apple ID The purchased list is retained, but some apps may not be downloadable in the new region
Switching to a new Apple ID The purchased list entirely belongs to the new ID (the old ID's list is invisible)

If you only changed the region of your original Apple ID, the download history is still there. If you registered a brand new Apple ID, the old history naturally remains with the old ID.

How to Check "Purchased" Items

For iOS 16+:

  1. Open the App Store
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner
  3. Select "Purchased"
  4. You can search for "Binance" in the list

If you see Binance in the list, you can tap the cloud icon to re-download it directly (you won't be charged again, as it's a free app anyway).

What If You Can't Find the Old History

If you switched your Apple ID and cannot find the old history:

Method 1: Switch back to the old Apple ID to check Settings → Apple ID → Sign Out → Sign in with the old ID → Check "Purchased" in the App Store. However, this switching process is somewhat cumbersome.

Method 2: Use "Family Sharing" Add the old Apple ID to the Family Sharing of the new ID. Once "Purchase Sharing" is enabled, the purchased items of both IDs can be viewed.

Method 3: Re-download directly The Binance app is free, so there is no cost to re-download it. The "Purchased" list of the new ID will immediately add this record.

The vast majority of users go with Method 3, as it saves time and effort.

Important Notes on Re-downloading

When re-downloading Binance on a new Apple ID:

  1. Confirm that Binance is available in the region of the new Apple ID (it is not available in the mainland China region)
  2. Search for "Binance" in the App Store → "Get"
  3. If it's your first time downloading with the new ID, you might be asked to verify your billing address, etc.
  4. Launch after downloading → Log in to your original Binance account → Data will be restored from the cloud

Binance account assets, KYC, and API Keys are all stored on the server and are completely unrelated to your Apple ID.

Special Cases for Recovering Older Versions of the App

If you want to download a specific historical version of Binance:

  • The App Store does not allow ordinary downloading of older versions (it defaults to providing the latest version)
  • In very rare cases, if you tap an old record in "Purchased," the App Store will ask, "Download a compatible version?" and automatically provide the latest version your device can run
  • If you want to accurately download a specific older version, you must rely on third-party tools (not recommended)

The vast majority of users have no specific requirement for the version number and simply downloading the latest one is sufficient.

Hidden Items in "Purchased"

There is a "Hidden Purchases" option within the "Purchased" section, allowing you to hide certain apps from view:

  • Its purpose is privacy protection, preventing family members from seeing certain apps you have purchased
  • After hiding, they can still be found in the "Hidden Purchases" submenu
  • They can be unhidden

When switching across Apple IDs, the hidden lists are also independent.

Using Multiple Apple IDs on One iPhone

In theory, one iPhone can be simultaneously bound to:

  • One Apple ID for iCloud (syncing, backup)
  • Another Apple ID for the App Store (downloading)

The two IDs do not interfere with each other. This setup is common when:

  • Using a domestic ID for iCloud to enjoy domestic backup services
  • Using an overseas ID for the App Store to download overseas apps like Binance

Setup path: Settings → Apple ID (profile picture at the top) controls iCloud; Settings → App Store (account at the top) controls downloading.

Limitations on Cross-Device Syncing

After switching your Apple ID, whether your iCloud Keychain passwords, Safari bookmarks, etc. sync depends on your iCloud settings. The Binance app itself does not rely on iCloud to sync any critical data, so switching your Apple ID will not cause you to lose any Binance login information.

FAQ

Q: Can I migrate purchased items in bulk? A: No. Apple does not support cross-ID migration.

Q: What happens if the Apple ID is changed back to the China region in the future? A: The "Purchased" items from the overseas region will still be there, but some apps (like Binance) will be grayed out and cannot be downloaded.
